3 short stories about life at Pemberley after ‘Pride & Prejudice’
An Evening at Pemberley – When Colonel Fitzwilliam arrives at Pemberley for an unexpected visit he is greeted by three very subdued relatives. What could have possibly happened to produce a tight-lipped Darcy, a sheepish Elizabeth, and an embarrassed Georgiana? Colonel Fitzwilliam is determined to find out during one entertaining and unprecedented evening. The only problem lies in knowing that truth can be hard to discern from fiction, especially with three story-tellers.
Overheard at Pemberley – The position as lady’s maid to the mistress of an estate is an enviable one in service, particularly for an unrepentant eavesdropper like Daisy Tiller. She is in a unique position to be confidante and observer both, apt to hear much of interest. When she is hired by Mrs Darcy, Tiller finds there is much to keep her entertained throughout the days at Pemberley, especially with a master and mistress like Mr and Mrs Darcy.
A Stolen Day at Pemberley – After an insulting marriage proposal, Elizabeth Bennet desires nothing more than to never see rude Mr Darcy again. But that very night she endures a vivid nightmare of his home at Pemberley, one in which she is his wife, and mother to his children, and happy to be so! What is she to do with this confusion, even as she becomes more convinced that the nightmare world might be real? Could she really love Mr Darcy?
This collection of short stories is the first publication from Georgina Pryke, based on the novel by Jane Austen.

THIS collection is the perfect example for why I scour Amazon searching for a continuation to Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy's story. Because when you find a gem like this...I don't even know where to start with how wonderful all three of these short stories were. I honestly don't understand how it has no reviews yet. Unfortunately, I think perhaps many readers are like me. I don't normally review, mainly for two reasons: 1) I usually don't read a story unless it already has a few reviews and at least 4 stars. What's more, once I'm done reading, I usually agree with the rating, and therefore, I'm honestly too lazy to write a review that'll just agree with what's already been said. 2) Now, if I dislike a story, I stop reading. Then, I feel bad about saying horrible things about someone's work, so I simply leave it alone.
I took a chance with this story since it had no reviews. I haven't been so happy to take a chance on a story in a long while. These short stories were beautifully written. The author's use of Regency era language was spot on. Her grammar was close to impeccable. The feelings conveyed in a matter of a few pages also show how talented she is, that she can make the reader connect with the characters so quickly! The romance between ODC leaped off the pages. It was beautifully portrayed in every story, even in scenes where they weren't together. And those scenes in which they were, the looks shared, the dialogue spoken, left me with no doubt to how much they love one another. All that being said, the stories themselves were amazingly creative. I loved getting a peek into Lizzie and Darcy's married life from the POVs the author chose: Colonel Fitzwilliam, Lizzy's lady's maid, and Lizzy herself (but portrayed in such a delightfully different way!). They're beautiful stories with which to curl up on a couch with a cup of coffee, and simply lose yourself in the romance that keeps us searching for more stories about Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy.
Knowing what I know now, having read this story, it's definitely worth more than the $.99 it cost. I'll stop here before my review is as long as the book, and before my praise becomes so overwhelming, but do yourself a favor and read this book. You'll end up with the widest smile and a happy heart. I truly hope this author continues writing because she'll be an amazing addition to the genre.

At Pemberley 3 Pride Prejudice Short Stories edition by Georgina Pryke a Lady Romance eBooks Reviews
These are three related- yet very, very different- short stories that are each marvelously done.
The first, entitled "An Evening At Pemberley," has Darcy, Elizabeth (now the very happily wed Mrs. Darcy) and Georgiana taking turns to tell Colonel Fitzwilliam the hysterical story of how they all ended up drenched and muddy the previous day, much to their servants' surprise and dismay. It all has to do with a cantankerous horse, a roving hog and a pond.
It's a delightfully natural-sounding conversation among the four family members. I love the way they are able to fill in gaps of the story for each other, including Colonel Fitzwilliam's contribution.
"Overheard At Pemberley" follows Daisy Tiller, Elizabeth Darcy's personal maid. There's an Upstairs/Downstairs quality to the proceedings, as Daisy has perfected the art of moving silently and hovering near open (and sometimes closed) doors to listen in on others in the course of performing her daily duties. She's also quite observant. Consequently, she is full of knowledge about various secrets throughout the estate. Despite her snooping ways, she is close-mouthed and doesn't give others a hint about all she knows.
This character study is as much about Elizabeth as it is about Daisy, as we learn much about the Mistress through the eyes of her maid. In both this story and the previous one, we see glimpses into the affectionate, loving Darcy marriage.
"A Stolen Day At Pemberley," when it begins, seems out of place compared to the previous two stories. Miss Elizabeth Bennet has just refused Mr. Darcy's insulting marriage proposal at Hunsford. When she finally falls asleep, she is still reeling from her interaction with the maddening gentleman. But she awakens alone in an unfamiliar, luxurious bedroom and ends up spending a hallucinatory day as the Mistress of a grand estate with her own lady's maid. She is shocked when she realizes she is Mrs. Darcy in this alternate reality. Sweet, friendly Georgiana Darcy is another revelation. And there's a nice continuation of a plot point from the previous story (no spoilers here, folks!)
Love the supernatural element of this one, especially the ending. Although I wanted more when I finished reading it, upon reflection I believe the author made the right choice in limiting this to a short story. It has a bit of on O. Henry quality that suits it.
I'm very impressed with the Pride and Prejudice world that the author has created here. The characters just leap off the page, fully developed. The love between Darcy and Elizabeth is evident despite not being a featured storyline in itself; it's present underneath the other events recounted, like visiting good friends who are happily married. As I said at the onset of this review, the three stories are distinctly different from each other, and each is compelling in its own way. This is high quality writing!
The final 15% on my kindle is an excerpt from Ms. Pryke's soon-to-be-released full-length P&P variation called Twice Shy. Sometimes that method of self-promotion bothers me, but it didn't feel off-putting following this mini-anthology of short stories.
